Christopher Haase has guided the Jamec Pem Audi to the top in final practice for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
Haase posted a 2:03.50s in the #75 R8 he is sharing with Garth Tander and Christopher Mies.
Warren Luff had set the pace early in the Objective McLaren 650S before settling for second in 2:03.86 as teams worked on final set-ups ahead of the opening qualifying session.
The #60 Team BMW SRM M6 of Steven Richards was third fastest in 2:04.07.
Nissan’s dreadful luck continued for a second day after Katsumasa Chiyo ripped the front right corner apart in his GT-R while plunging down the Esses.
Chiyo was chasing more time in the Nissan with only 10 minutes remaining. The 2015 winner’s incident red flagged the session, leaving his #23 machine fourth fastest with a 2:04.11.
“I was too close to the inside wall,” Chiyo told Speedcafe.com.
The incident came after the sister factory #24 Nissan GT-R eased onto the circuit with Jann Mardenborough at the wheel at the midpoint in the session after an all-night rebuild.
Mardenborough ended the session 19th with a 2:06.25s best lap as the machine eased back into competition after sustaining heavy chassis damage.
The #62 R-Sport Aston Martin driven by Dane Jan Struve brought out a red flag after five minutes. Struve was taken to medical centre for precautionary checks but was otherwise unhurt.
The GT4 V8 Vantage turned abruptly right and slammed into the concrete on Mountain Straight, leaving it with sufficient damage that ended its campaign.
